Originally from Mexico, Vania started at Seneca Animal Hospital in 2023. She takes a special interest in veterinary pathology and geriatric pet care. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and walking her 14-year-old Jack Russell named Manchas.
Chloe W.
Chloe has been worked in the veterinary medicine field since 2019 and joined Seneca Animal Hospital in 2023 after working at other clinics in the region. Chloe is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with a mini rex rabbit named Clover and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Copenhagen. She takes a special interest in exotic and emergency medicine as well as puppy/kitten care and working in surgery!
Kaitlyn L.
Kaitlyn joined Seneca Animal Hospital in May of 2023 after working at several other animal facilities. She particularly loves bathing dogs and working with Dachshunds. At home, you can find her spending time with her two cats: Hennessy, a tuxedo tabby, and Princess, a Bombay.

Kaitlin joined Seneca Animal Hospital in January 2023. Originally from Westminster, Katilin has been working in veterinary medicine since 2018 with a passion for exotics and canine wellness care! Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys gardening outdoors, playing with her Golden Retriever, Harmony, and spending time with her husband and their two children, Erin and Ellie.
Mark Moore, DVM with Doc
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Mark L. Moore is the sole owner of Seneca Animal Hospital. While growing up on a farm in a small town in southeastern Kentucky, Dr. Moore’s family raised goats and operated a small logging and lumber business. Dr. Moore completed his undergraduate studies at Morehead State University in Kentucky and received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1997.
Dr. Moore opened Seneca Animal Hospital in 2001 in downtown Seneca and then moved it to our current location in 2008. He has held five different positions on the executive board of the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians, including the president. He has also served as the alternate delegate for South Carolina to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Dr. Moore currently serves on the Advisory Committee to the Veterinary Technician Program at Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) and is Chairman of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) at Tri-County Tech.
The Moore family has had a wide variety of animal family members over the years. They currently include five cats, five dogs, two lizards, one snake, and two horses. When not busy with the clinic, Dr. Moore enjoys mountain biking, working out at the YMCA, and fishing. He is an active member of the Church of Christ and has participated in several veterinary and evangelistic mission campaigns.
Shannon Majsztrik, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Shannon Majsztrik (pronounced “mice-trick”) received her DVM from the University of Georgia in 2005. Since starting in veterinary medicine in 1991, Dr. Majsztrik has worked in a variety of settings, including surgical research, specialty emergency medicine, the intensive care unit at UGA, and general practice medicine. Her special interests include internal medicine, infectious diseases, wellness care for all ages, and feline & canine medicine. Some of Dr. Majsztrik’s favorite parts about working in veterinary medicine include caring for a pet their whole life and developing relationships with both her patients and clients. Dr. Majsztrik loves spending time with her family, which consists of her husband, three children, two dogs, 3 cats, and 1 chinchilla named Enchilada.
Jaimi Goodman, DVM with Gabby
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jaimi Goodman, who grew up in Greenville, joined Seneca Animal Hospital in June of 2020. She graduated with a Degree of Veterinary Medicine from LSU in 2014. Dr. Goodman enjoys working with small animals and exotics and is particularly fond of Dachshunds and English Bulldogs. She takes a special interest in pathology, appointments involving ears, wellness care, and exotic animal medicine. At home, she has a cat named Domino, two Parakeets named Banner and Black Widow, two guinea pigs named Powder and Gizmo, and five dogs named Bella, Gabby, Taz, Sphinx, and Charlotte. Dr. Goodman loves being with her family, traveling the world, cooking (especially international dishes), and walking.
Jessica Traber, DVM with Olive and Storm
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jessica Traber grew up in a small, rural town in Wisconsin and attended undergraduate school at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Her love of traveling and new cultures took her to live overseas in Perth, Australia. Dr. Traber attended vet school at Murdoch University in Australia. During her studies at Murdoch University, she enjoyed working on all types of animals; large, small, and exotics. Once graduated in 2011, she moved to South Carolina with her 4 dogs and 2 cats. In her downtime, she enjoys hiking, hanging out with her animals, traveling, and boating.
Whittney Merchant, DWM with Bella
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Whittney Merchant joined our practice as a DVM in September 2020 but started her career in veterinary medicine in 2012, where she attended Clemson University. After completing her degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Dr. Merchant then earned her DVM degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has three dogs (Bella, Bjorn, and Bonnie) and two cats (Freya and Jensen). Dr. Merchant is particularly fond of Huskies and German Shepherds. She loves educating clients when they bring their puppy or kitten in for a visit and is committed to assisting old friends to pass with peace and dignity. When not working, you can find Dr. Merchant hiking to new waterfalls. A quote she finds noteworthy is, “Happiness is a crazy cute German Shepherd.”
Cyndi Carrizales, Executive Director
Cyndi came to Seneca Animal Hospital in April 2010 with 7 years of previous experience from a clinic outside of Chicago. She was born and raised in the south and ventured away after graduating from Georgia State University. While in Atlanta, she became an avid Georgia Tech fan. We can most likely blame her husband, who’s a Georgia Tech alum. Cyndi and her husband made South Carolina their home in December of 2007. Cyndi has had a deep love and affection for all kinds of animals since childhood. “I enjoy working at Seneca Animal Hospital because of the deep commitment to quality care for each animal. My goal is to make everyone know that we are the best animal hospital in the area with top quality, caring staff.”

Executive Director
Jessica was raised in York, South Carolina, and graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences in 2017. While she has worked in the veterinary field since 2013, Jessica started at Seneca Animal Hospital in April 2017. She has two dogs, Park and Mouse, and one Sulcata tortoise named Milton. While she loves working with all animals, she prefers working with larger dogs such as Mastiffs and Great Danes. She lives with her husband and daughter and enjoys reading and spending time outdoors in her free time.
Michelle Bush
Director of Administration
Michelle got her start in veterinary medicine in August of 2015 when she started at Seneca Animal Hospital as a receptionist and client coordinator. Since then, she has risen to the role of Director of Client Services and is now the Director of Administration. A role in which her managerial experience of over 10 years is serving her well. A local to the area, Michelle was raised in Pendleton and now lives in Fair Play with her husband, daughter, dog, rabbit, and cats. In her free time she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family.
Maddie Pickett
Director of Client Services
Maddie, who grew up in Gilbert, South Carolina, has been with Seneca Animal Hospital since March 2019, but in 2022 earned the title of Director of Client Services. Maddie attended Midlands Technical College and has four animals at home, including Minnow the Beagle mix, Laurel the Golden Retriever, and two cats, Lunnie Mae and Mayonnaise. When Maddie is not working, she loves to spend quality time with her husband, usually on their boat fishing. A quote that Maddie finds noteworthy is, “Strive to learn something new every day.” While never wanting to see a sick fur baby, Maddie finds it rewarding to see when animals who were ill are completely back to their healthy selves. She notes that getting into veterinary medicine was a life-changing decision.
Rachel LaRue with Maverick and Rosie
Director of Operations
Rachel joined Seneca Animal Hospital in July 2020, but she began her career in veterinary medicine in December 2013. Rachel was born and raised in DeForest, WI. She attended Clemson University and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s in Animal and Veterinary Science and a minor in Business Administration. Rachel has 2 dogs, 2 cats, 13 chickens, and a bearded dragon. She is particularly fond of geriatric pups and has recently adopted a 14-year-old from the Oconee Humane Society named Rosie.
Amanda M.
Amanda joined Seneca Animal Hospital in March 2020. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art from Anderson College. Amanda particularly likes working with Chinese Crested Dogs and has one at home named Harry. In addition to Harry, Amanda also has one other dog and five cats. In her spare time, Amanda creates beautiful works of art as an oil painter.
Justine O-C. with Nessie
Justine has been a Client Service Specialist with Seneca Animal Hospital since October 2021. She is originally from Denver, Colorado, and is currently majoring in Nursing at Tri-County Tech. A Spanish speaker, Justine is always willing to help with our Spanish-speaking clients. Even though Justine only has cats at home (Luna, Nessie, and Angel), she loves seeing all the cute, fluffy dogs that come in!
Haley M.
Haley, from Seneca, joined Seneca Animal Hospital in October of 2022. She has a wide variety of house plants and animals at home, including 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 cockatiels, a leopard gecko, a corn snake, a blue-tongue skink, 2 tarantulas, and fish. While she takes care of many animals at home, she particularly enjoys working with reptiles, birds, and corgis, her dream dog. When not at work, Haley is at home taking care of her 2-year-old son named Gavin.

Tabitha joined Seneca Animal Hospital in October 2022 as a Customer Service Specialist. From Westminster, Tabitha has a cat named Nollie and particularly enjoys seeing the puppies and kittens that come in for appointments at our office.
Kallee G.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Kallee, one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, has been with Seneca Animal Hospital since October 2011. From Seneca, Kallee attended Tri-County Tech to earn her LVT degree. As a true cat lover, Kallee welcomes cats and kittens into her home somewhat regularly and is the proud owner of 25 felines. While Kallee is particularly fond of working with cats, including the spicy variety, she does have a special place in her heart for canines, especially her two dogs, Santa Fe and Asuna.
Erin D. with Harbor
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Erin started her career in veterinary medicine in January 2016 and joined Seneca Animal Hospital in May 2018. Originally from Easley, Erin graduated from Tri-County Tech with her LVT degree. Erin has a large crew of animals, including Harbor the German Shepherd, Canyon the Australian Shepherd, Waco the pit mix, Eeyore the Holland Lop, Hershey the horse, Lortetty & Jolene, the Running ducks, and a flock of chickens (Amelia EggHart, Dixie Chick, Buckbeak, and Stihl Magnolia). Her special veterinary medicine interests include surgery, exotic animals, and her favorite breed is the German Shepherd. Erin’s hobbies include horseback riding and reading.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Originally from Fort Mill, Amanda earned her LVT degree from Tri-County Tech and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2016. Amanda, who started with Seneca Animal Hospital in November of 2022, loves working with cats and is the owner of a fierce, one-eyed domestic shorthaired cat named Frank. When not working, you can find Amanda working on cross stitch while watching horror movies with Frank.
Amy T.
Amy started her career in veterinary medicine in 2010 and has a degree from Clemson University in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. Her current crew of animals includes Hazel, the chocolate lab, Ziggy & Luna, Amy’s cats, and the Daphne, of the James & Daphne Fund. Of the many breeds of dogs that we see at Seneca Animal Hospital, labrador retrievers are Amy’s favorite breed to work with.

Kylie started at Seneca Animal Hospital in December 2019 and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2017. Kylie worked as a kennel tech in an animal shelter for 2 and ½ years before joining our team. While Kylie has experience working with many different species and breeds, her favorite type of appointment is any that involves a cat or a kitten!

Hannah D.
Hannah, originally from Louisville, Kentucky, got her start in veterinary medicine in 2017 and joined Seneca Animal Hospital in July 2021. Hannah is the proud owner of a myriad of venomous snakes, lizards, turtles, birds, scorpions, tarantulas, and beetles. She also loves her two Sphynx cats, Skinderella and Enzo. Of all the exotics she owns, Hannah is particularly fond of Mangshan Vipers. Hannah’s favorite aspect of exotic ownership is providing proper husbandry to all her creatures and passing along this knowledge to other exotic owners.
Alex L. with Chowder
Alex is a Veterinary Assistant who joined Seneca Animal Hospital in September 2021. Alex has a variety of experience with animals and has worked in animal shelters and emergency clinics, as well as experience with pet boarding and grooming. She currently has a mutt named Kiva and a cat named Chowder. Alex’s special interests in veterinary medicine include diagnostics/laboratory testing and working with energetic & anxious dogs.
Darci B. with Ziva
With over 18 years of working in veterinary medicine, Darci has a lot of experience working with both small animals and horses. Darci spent several years working exclusively with equines in Kentucky and has worked with many famous racehorses, including Zenyatta. Besides equine medicine, Darci takes a special interest in emergency medicine, neurology, and corgis. In her spare time, Darci enjoys paddle boarding and horse racing. She has three dogs, all named after NCIS characters: Ziva, DiNozzo, and Gibbs!
Kayla N.
Kayla joined Seneca Animal Hospital in April 2022, but she began her career in veterinary medicine in May 2019. Kayla, who is from Great Meadows, New Jersey, has a chocolate Labrador named Remington. Her special interest in veterinary medicine includes puppy visits, surgical procedures, and working with Labrador Retrievers. A quote that Kayla finds noteworthy is, “Always stay humble and kind.”
Lindsay W.
Lindsay, who joined Seneca Animal Hospital in May 2022, is currently a pre-vet major at Clemson University. She has a thoroughbred horse named Jasper and a Golden Retriever/Lab mix named Mango. Lindsay particularly likes working with Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers.
Sarah M.
Sarah is a pre-vet major at Clemson University who joined Seneca Animal Hospital in June of 2022. She is from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and enjoys hiking in her spare time. While she has a small Shih-Tzu named Beethoven at home, she really loves working with larger breeds like German Shepherds and Great Danes.
Whitney W. with Kevin
Whitney, who joined Seneca Animal Hospital in July 2022, grew up around animals and has always known that working in veterinary medicine was something that would bring her joy. She currently has an English Bulldog named Kevin and 3 cats named Phyllis, Roy, and Nigel. Whitney particularly enjoys working kitten and puppy visits, but especially enjoys working with English Bulldogs. At home, Whitney uses her green thumb to tend to her house plants and garden. She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her sisters and nephew.

Allanté C. with Yzma
Allanté joined Seneca Animal Hospital in August of 2022. She is originally from the Bay Area in California with roots in West Virginia. She received a B.S. in Equine and Ranch Management from Feather River College and has since worked at two ranches and three veterinary clinics, including Seneca Animal Hospital. Allanté loves working with large animals and enjoys spending time at work collecting samples and running diagnostic tests. In her free time, Allanté enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her Domestic Shorthair named Yzma.
Micah H.
Micah, originally from Columbia, South Carolina, has been working in the veterinary field since 2018 but joined Seneca Animal Hospital in September 2022. She is currently a student at Clemson University working towards a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. She has a Beagle named Buster and two guinea pigs named Penny and Jack-Jack. Micah loves working with dogs, especially puppies.
Jack S.
Jack joined Seneca Animal Hospital in May of 2022. He is originally from Walhalla and is currently studying at Penn State, where he is majoring in Veterinary and Biomedical Science. Jack plans on pursuing veterinary school once he completes his undergraduate studies. At Seneca Animal Hospital, he enjoys learning about exotic animals and his favorite type of appointment is a puppy visit! In his free time, Jack enjoys hiking, swimming, and watching Star Wars.

Brandy joined Seneca Animal Hospital as our Lab Tech in July 2022. Originally from Anderson, Brandy has a Business certificate from Tri-County Tech. At home, Brandy has two dogs, Sammi the Blue Heeler, and Bruce the Pit! Brandy loves working with any breed and has a special interest in pathology.

Reagan started at Seneca Animal Hospital in June 2022. Originally from Campobello, Reagan has a Border Collie named Maybelline. When not at work, Reagan spends her time doting on her adorable daughter, Magnolia, and enjoys watching football with her hubby.
Kayla W. with Murphy
Boarding Shift Leader
Kayla joined the boarding staff at Seneca Animal Hospital in June 2022 and is now a Boarding Shift Leader. Kayla, originally from Newnan, Georgia, has years of experience working with animals, including pet-sitting, bathing, and training. When at home, you can find her hanging out with her Dachshund named Murphy, Shih-Tzu name Bear, Shih-Tzu mix named Sammi, Bulldog mix named Pebbles, hamster named Rhino, and her bearded dragon named Tank!
Anna C. with Spock
Kennel Attendant
Anna started at Seneca Animal Hospital in May of 2022. They attended Anderson University and currently live with a myriad of animals, including 3 dogs (Kirk, Mimi, and Yodie), 4 cats (Spock, Kaya, Grim Lynn, and Boogie), and 1 crested gecko named Bean. Anna really loves working with most animals, especially cats. They take a special interest in diagnostics and are interested in learning more about laboratory testing and reading lab samples. In their free time, Anna enjoys art, nature, insects, and reading, specifically about theology and spirituality. Anna lives in Seneca with their fiance Krissy.

Bri, originally from Greenville, joined Seneca Animal Hospital in July 2022. Bri attended Ashworth College and currently has 3 dogs (Axl Rose, Coda, and Fancy) and 3 cats (Skai, Luna, and Nova). Bri’s favorite animals to work with include kittens and any large breed dog!

Emily, originally from Gilford, New Hampshire, lives in Seneca and started at Seneca Animal Hospital in 2022. She loves when big breed dogs, like Great Danes, Bloodhounds, and German Shepherds, come into boarding as “they are always the sweetest and cuddliest”. At home, she has five pets which include Macy the bully pit mix, Mandy the Pitbull, Bear, the pit mix, Ridley the Rat Terrier mix, and Damon, the cat. Emily’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her animals whether it’s hiking with her dogs or snuggling in bed with all five pets.

Alex joined Seneca Animal in August 2022. He is originally from Palm Bay, Florida, and has an adorable English Springer Spaniel named Toby. Alex’s interests include basketball, football, and family time, and he enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and nature.
Lena M.
Originally from Fort Mill, Lena joined our team for a second time in November 2022 but is no stranger to working with animals. In high school, Lena volunteered at various animal hospitals and graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences in December 2021. She is currently working towards an LVT degree at Tri-County Tech. Squeezed into her 2-bedroom apartment, Lena has 4 cats (Ollie, Ripley, Junie, and Andy) and 1 dog (Bear). While Lena has always been more of a cat person, she truly enjoys all types of animals and exotics pets, except maybe reptiles. Lena’s dream career is working in the emergency veterinary field or with big cats at a zoo.
