Pet Emergencies
If your pet is currently experiencing a medical emergency within our normal business hours, please call us at 864-882-8747, and we will guide you to the appropriate care for your pet’s emergency situation. This may involve bringing your pet to our hospital for assessment, treatment, and/or stabilization, or we may recommend you seek immediate care at an emergency facility such as Upstate Vet or Fetch in Greenville.
If your pet is currently experiencing a medical emergency outside of our normal business hours, see below.
Examples of Pet Emergencies
- Severe bleeding or bleeding that doesn’t stop within five minutes
- Choking, difficulty breathing or nonstop coughing and gagging
- Bleeding from nose, mouth, rectum, coughing up blood, or blood in urine
- Inability to urinate or pass feces (stool), or obvious pain associated with urinating or passing stool
- Injuries to your pet’s eye(s)
- You suspect or know your pet has eaten something poisonous (such as antifreeze, xylitol, chocolate, rodent poison, etc.)
- Seizures and/or staggering
- Fractured bones, severe lameness or inability to move leg(s)
- Obvious signs of pain or extreme anxiety

Urgent Care
We are available during our regular business hours for non-life-threatening urgent care. If your pet needs immediate attention before a scheduled appointment is available, we will do our best to accommodate you and your pet.
Options may include a sick-visit appointment or a drop-off service. For drop-off patients, we will provide you with a set arrival time when one of our technicians will obtain a history and provide you with an estimate for services. Depending on our schedule, a 30 to 60-minute wait may occur before a technician is able to meet you in our lobby. Once a history has been obtained and an estimate signed, you will leave your pet with us for the remainder of the day, allowing our veterinarians to examine and treat your pet between regularly scheduled appointments. Our doctors and technicians will keep you updated over the phone with recommendations. This system minimizes wait times and increases our ability to care for more pets daily.
In the event that we are fully booked with appointments and sick patients and are unable to see your pet, we will recommend seeking care elsewhere if the situation is urgent. It is because your pet’s well-being is our top priority that we will suggest you seek care elsewhere, so your pet’s needs can be addressed in a timely manner.
Examples of Urgent Care Situations (Nonlife-threatening)
- Minor Wounds, Cuts & Lacerations
- Toenail Injuries
- Vaccine Reactions
- Insect Bites & Stings
- Coughing & Sneezing
- Mild Vomiting & Diarrhea
- Inappetence
- Mild Limping or Lamenes
If you pet is in need of care or you have questions, please call us at 864-882-8747.
